Storm Damage Brush Pickup Available

In the aftermath of last week’s storm, and the harsh storm this morning, many residents are dealing with brush all over their property. In an effort to assist the citizens affected, the Department of Public Works is providing storm damage brush pickups. The Town of Vienna will provide this service as a one-time only, free service for each residence in Town.

If you would like the service, you must request it no later than Sunday, August 22. Your must also meet the requirements for the pickup which include trees and limbs less than 6 inches in diameter and less than 8 feet in length. If you have larger brush, you will need to cut it down to meet the requirements before the pickup service can be provided. Once the brush is collected and at your curb, you can call the special pickup line at 703-255-5727.

Yogen Früz Does Frozen Yogurt With a Twist

This year’s summer treats can be diet-friendly and flavorful. Yogen Früz, a frozen yogurt shop right on 1825 Discovery Street in Reston, VA, and in Mclean’s Tyson’s Corner on 1961 Chain Bridge Road, introduced their newest flavor this past spring: chai latte.

If that new flavor doesn’t satisfy your taste buds enough, Yogen Früz offers a “Mix-It” machine that blends in any fresh fruit of your choice. This machine helps create a personalized fruit flavored yogurt right in front of the customer that is both refreshing and nutritional.

Bathing suit season is not quite over yet, so go on in and try out your own “Mix-It” combination with this non-fat tart frozen yogurt. Yogen Früz yogurt also is filled with 1 billion healthy pro-biotics per serving, giving it yet another health advantage. No guilt trips after this sweet treat!

Expect Road Delays Due to Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project

Beginning on August 4 the eastbound lanes of the Dulles Connector Road, Route 267, will be closed for 3 nights starting at 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. The construction will be impacting drivers using the eastbound Dulles Toll Road and the Dulles Airport Access Highway. Drivers will be required to detour onto the southbound I-495 Capital Beltway and exit on to northbound Route 123 toward McClean and then rejoin the eastbound Dulles Connecter Road from northbound Route 123.

While the initial construction has set times of closure, there will be more periodic closures over the next few weeks as required. However, the detour will remain the same. Keep in mind that all work is subject to change if there is inclement weather. For more information about the Metrorail project itself you can visit www.dullesmetro.com.
