Looking for something fun to do this Valentine’s Day weekend? Whether you are single and ready to mingle, married, engaged, or just want something fun to do, Reston Town Center is sure to have something for you to do this upcoming weekend. Carol Nahorniak, the Creative Director of Myers Public Relations, says with the Valentine's Day holiday weekend approaching, “The restaurants will be packed.” Besides grabbing a bite to eat, she told us about all the different events happening this weekend at the Reston Town Center.

Here are some highlights:

Valentine’s Gift Wrapping at Appalachian Spring

Did you get your sweetheart something special, but need it gift wrapped? You can come to Appalachian Spring Friday through Monday and get your gifts wrapped while also giving back to the community. All proceeds will benefit Kids R First, a non-profit organization helping kids in need prepare for their future.

Valentine’s Pajama Brunch at Mon Ami Gabi

On Saturday, February 12, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. come out to Mon Ami Gabi for the most comfortable brunch you’ve ever had. There will be waffle bananas foster, blueberry French toast, crepes, quiches, mimosas, and a “build-your-own” bloody mary bar. That’s not even the best part…if you wear pajamas, whatever you spend on Saturday at brunch, you will get a gift certificate for that amount for your next visit! “There’s a good chance I’ll be at the pajama brunch this weekend,” said Nahorniak.

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides

On Saturday after your brunch at Mon Ami Gabi, get in line for a Carriage Ride. The carriage rides are first come, first serve and will run from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. The carriage rides will pick up in front of the Talbots on Market Street. $5/person and children under 5 are free. All proceeds go to Reston Character Counts, a local non-profit organization.

A Fantasy Wedding 2011 Drawing at the Ice Skating Pavilion

On Sunday, February 13, at 2 pm engaged couples will have the opportunity to win A Fantasy Wedding! The winning couple will be married in the Reston Pavilion on Saturday, May 28 at 11:30 a.m. Some of the featured retailers include Edibles Incredible, II Fornaio, and Williams-Sonoma to name a few. Nahorniak expects there will be a lot of Fairfax County residents visiting Reston Town Center this weekend, but “a lot of people come from Leesburg, Sterling, and even South Montgomery County…all over really.” She believes this is because, “It is a unique venue – it was built to be a community gathering place when it first opening about 20 years ago.” When it first was built there were very few retailers and it was built to be mixed use. Reston Town Center also provides great opportunities for local charities to get the word out, as well as do some fundraising.
