Five in July Park Pledge
Five in July Park Pledge

From Fairfax County:

Since 1985, the National Recreation and Park Association  (NRPA) has celebrated National Park and Recreation Month in July. Throughout the month NRPA promotes the importance of parks and recreation in establishing and maintaining healthy lifestyles and communities. This year, July has five weekends, leading NRPA to challenge people to visit local parks on five consecutive weekends. Anyone interested in creating healthy weekend habits is encouraged to sign the Five in July Park Pledge.

Operating 416 parks on nearly 23,000 acres of parkland, the Fairfax County Park Authority provides innumerable opportunities for residents to launch their healthy lifestyle this July. Along with over 300 miles of trails, the Park Authority offers programs for all age groups at RECentersgolf courses, andhistoric sites. Cycling, hiking, boating, swimming, geocaching, and volunteering are just some of the healthy ways residents can enjoy the outdoors in Fairfax County’s award winning park system.
