Vienna Volunteer Fire Department Open House

This was sent to us by Vienna Volunteer Fire Department:

On Saturday October 9th the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department (400 Center Street South, Vienna, VA) is pleased to host its annual Open House. This day is the culmination of Fire Prevention week. The 2010 National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) theme is simply: “Smoke Alarms: A Sound You Can Live With!” The Open House will help educate the public on the importance of working smoke alarms, how to properly use and maintain smoke alarms and what to do should a home fire occur.

The Vienna Volunteer Fire Department offers the following tips for making sure smoke alarms are maintained and working properly:

•Test smoke alarms at least once a month using the test button, and make sure everyone in your home knows their sound.

•If an alarm “chirps,” warning the battery is low, replace the battery right away.
