Vienna, VA- There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly completed sidewalk along Lawyers Road on Saturday, November 20, at 9 a.m. at the corner of Abbotsford Drive and Lawyers Road in Fairfax County.  The new 5’ wide sidewalk runs along Lawyers Road from Blair Court, NW in Vienna to Abbotsford Drive in Fairfax County.  The public is encouraged to attend.

This section of Lawyers Road topped the Town’s Sidewalk Task Force List, which identifies locations in Town in need of sidewalks, and is compiled based on input from residents, the Town’s Transportation Safety Commission, Town Council and the Department of Public Works.  This section of Lawyers Road was given a high priority status since it serves as a walking route to Louise Archer Elementary School, is the location for several bus stops, and is along a busy thoroughfare with high speed and heavy traffic volume.
